    Hello Kim!
First off I would like to thank your family for blazing the tiny home trail in Minnesota. I’ve been following the community for over a year now and currently saving up for a tiny home.

Has your family found land yet? What are you doing for placement (Rv park, renting, etc)? I read an article about your home on Kare 11, and the challenges with twin cities zoning laws. I don’t want that to be a barrier for me to realize this dream; I suppose I should follow it and figure out the land/placement obstacle afterwards.

I’ve already downsized my possessions considerably and researching home styles that I like. Is there any advice you can lend for the design phase?

Thank you for being an inspiration! If you ever have another open house in the near future I would definitely be interested.

Hi Armel! Thank you! 🙂 We’re working on the land bit right now. That’s the challenge. 🙂 We’re at campgrounds right now. Which I actually recommend as a start because you get a chance to take a few things on more slowly. Before going completely off grid. Our experience has been great anyway. Minneapolis recently changed ordinances to allow for ADU’s. Accessory Dwelling Units. So if you can find a backyard to rent, its legal!
Design. … Pinterest helped me a lot! I don’t know, think about the space you’re in now. …where do you spend the most time? Close off spaces you don’t use and start going tiny in your own space to get ideas. I’ll share our next open house here for sure. 🙂 Blessings, Armel!
